Fishing
For some people, fishing is a relaxing and enjoyable pastime as well as a competitive sport that implements various degrees of techniques that range from the most famous form of angling with fishing line and also includes netting fish, trapping them or perhaps catching them with your hands. Many people fish so that they can later eat them, though others might sell the fish on so that the endeavour becomes a business and as mentioned it can be a professional sport.
Walk down an English river, canal or any other stretch of water and you are likely to find people fishing by the waterside. Some are prepared to wait for long stretches of time in the hope of catching their prize and it can be very fulfilling.
There are many different pieces of equipment to aide such a task, including fishing rods, lines, reels and hooks, all of which make up the traditional image of the fisherman. The fishing rod usually has a line attached to it that dangles into the water with a hook. When a fish is caught, the fisherman can reel it in by turning the reel which is mounted in an axle on the rod.
Fishing has a long history and as far back as humans go, there has been fishing in some sort. In all likeliness it will always be around as long as there's water and aquatic life there will be fishing.
